So begins "Gilgamesh: A New English Version" written by Stephen Mitchell, translated from a combination of various earlier translations of the earliest fictional narrative known to exist. The epic was originally written over 3,000 years ago (predating the Bible and Homer's Illiad by 2,000 and 1,000 years, respectively.) This image was composed as the cover for a graphic novel adaptation of the story of Gilgamesh, which I intend to create........eventually. It's not perfect, but I like it nonetheless.
